Monmouth Federal Credit Union Members Agree to Merge with Great Falls Regional Federal Credit Union

Merger FAQ

Monmouth Federal Credit Union members have agreed to merge with/into Great Falls Regional Federal Credit Union. This is a merger of two healthy and financially strong credit unions that will benefit both member groups. This partnership will provide access to a number of convenient branch locations, competitive loan and deposit rates, stronger technology, and new products and services for our members.

Why bring the two credit unions together?

We want to bring our members the best value while we ensure we can continue to grow and thrive. By partnering with another long-time established credit union in the second largest populated city in Maine, we will significantly increase operating efficiencies resulting in more resources for our joint member base.

Will the name of our credit union change?

Yes. We will begin using “Monmouth Federal Credit Union, a branch of Great Falls Regional Federal Credit Union” as of Wednesday, March 16th.

Will my online banking still work?

Yes, please continue to use online banking and the mobile app as you have done in the past. We will provide you with updates in the coming months with how to access your finances online.

What about hours and locations?

Do not worry. Our Monmouth location will remain open, and lobby hours of operation will not change from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.  Our drive-thru hours will be 7:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. We strive to make this as seamless as possible.

When will members be able to access my account in the Auburn and Lewiston branches?

Great Falls Regional Federal Credit Union does not currently offer shared branching. We are under contract to bring shared branching to those locations. Monmouth members will still be able to use shared branching at participating shared branching credit unions. We will update members as more news becomes available.

Will my member number or account number change?

We will be providing members with timely updated information regarding any modifications to their member number and account number, if applicable.

Will my Debit/ATM card, credit card, and checks continue to work?

Yes. Members will be able to continue to use their current Debit/ATM cards and checks during this process.

What will happen to the staff of each credit union?

All credit union employees will be retained. Credit Unions have always been about local people serving other locals. Expect to see the same friendly faces at Monmouth Federal Credit Union.
